What are the hours for The Advisement Center?
The Advisement Center is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; however, the center does close for devotional.
Do I need an appointment in order to meet with an Academic Advisor?
Our office is a walk-in center so no appointments are necessary. The advisors work with students on a first come, first serve basis. If you are coming from out of town or need to schedule a time to meet with someone, an advisor would be happy to make those arrangements.
How do I change my major?
This depends on your desired major. For:

How do I declare a minor?
In order to declare a minor in our college, students must obtain a minor clearance form from the advisement center. They must obtain a signature from the minor advisor (whose name is located on the bottom of the clearance form) and then return the form to their own major advisement center (if the student is part of our College( HHP), return the form to us).
When do I apply for Graduation?
It is suggested that students meet with an advisor no less than three semesters before they plan on graduating to discuss their status for graduation and to make sure they are on track to graduate when they plan on graduating. Application deadlines are:
*It is recommended that students apply for graduation as soon as they have registered for their final semester rather than wait for the deadline.
How do I apply for Graduation?
In order to apply for graduation students will need to come into the advisement center. An advisor will then meet with the student and go through his/her progress report and graduation application. Once this is complete students will need to turn in their graduation application, along with a $15.00 fee, to D-155 ASB.
How do I register for more than 18 credits during Fall/Winter or 9 credits during Spring/Summer?
In order to register for more than the allotted amount, students will need to obtain and fill out an add/drop card (these are available in the advisement center or at One Stop). Students will need to get a signature from the instructor of the course(s) that will put them over hours. Once this form is complete, students must come to the advisement center and meet with an academic advisor. The academic advisor can approve up to 21 credits for Fall or Winter semesters, or up to 11 credits for Spring or Summer terms (If a student is requesting more than the above amount of credits they will need to go to the petitions office). Finally, these forms are turned in to One Stop or the Registration Office.
Where do I find my Major Academic Plan (MAP) online?
- Go to the BYU homepage (byu.edu)
- Select the tab labeled “Students”
- Select the tab labeled “Academic Links”
- Click “Advising”
- Under “Major Academic Plans” select the year you entered the program
- Select the college (Our college is The College of Health and Human Performance)
- Select the major
Where do I find my Progress Report On-line?
- Go to MYMAP
- Click on the Plan Tab
- Select Progress Report (on the far right side next to the Explore other Majors/Minors tab)
